Our topic this month for our Trends and Changes in ICT Series. is "You Reap what you SOA" - a snapshot of one companies attempt to determine "SOA What? Event Overview –  In this session on "You Reap what you SOA" - a snapshot of one companies attempt to determine "SOA What? "  Glen will give a current view of Bell Aliants strategy and journey into the adoption of Service Oriented Architecture.
 

Many enterprises have launched SOA initiatives, the end goal being a more agile architecture allowing for quick response to business needs and requirement changes in relatively real-time.  SOA supplies a mechanism for resolving issues with systems that have floundered in a state of dysfunction for years

Glen Hicks - Biography

Glen is Director of IT Strategy and Architecture for Bell Aliant reporting to the CIO. 

Last year he had the additional responsibility of leading the IT transition program and negotiating the IT agreement for the creation of Bell Aliant with Bell Canada.

Starting with NBTel in 1990, He has had various roles over the years in Business Strategy, IT Architecture, IT Planning and Software Development

He hails from Fredericton and is a Graduate of UNB's Computer Science Co-Op Program.

He currently lives in Milledgeville with his wife Deborah, and 3 children Brandon, Jason and Meaghan.
